Hurricane Milton reached Category 5 status on Monday, and is expected to make landfall near Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday night. The storm is forecast to make landfall in Florida late Wednesday night as a "dangerous major hurricane," according to the National Hurricane Center.

The state of Florida will open four “insurance villages” featuring major insurance companies to help Floridians impacted by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton file claims and ask questions.

"Alligators may be observed more frequently in flooded areas after a hurricane or tropical storm," the Florida FWC warns.
