A US Border Patrol agent who was killed in Vermont during a traffic stop near the Canadian border was a military veteran who worked security duty at the Pentagon during the time of the Sept. 11 attacks,

It's been two days since U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland was killed in the line of duty. The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Maland was killed during a traffic stop on I-89 in Coventry, Vermont.

The agent was identified as David “Chris” Maland, 44. Maland was a Blue Earth native and a graduate of Fairmont High School.
