NATO is launching a new mission to protect undersea cables in the Baltic Sea region after a string of incidents that have heightened concerns about possible Russian activities, the alliance’s leader said.

Alongside Rutte and other European officials, leaders of Baltic nations met in Helsinki on Tuesday to coordinate on securing the sea, after Finland seized an oil tanker that was suspected of severing a power cable connected to Estonia in late December.
