Ford has issued an urgent bulletin advising EV owners to immediately stop using Tesla Supercharger adapters provided by the company.

After offering its customers free NACS adapters for Tesla's Superchargers, Ford is telling its customers to stop using them, according to a service bulletin spotted by InsideEVs. The reason cited is a "potential issue" that could reduce charging speeds over time and even cause charging port damage,

Ford EV owners should follow the link on Ford’s notice to make sure it has the right address on file. If it is, they won’t need to do anything else to get their replacement, but if not, the company says customers need to update their address by October 24th.

Some Ford owners are being told to stop using their Tesla Supercharger adapter until a replacement can be shipped.

Ford's EV customers gained access to Tesla's supercharger network using the adapters in February 2024, and many other EV manufacturers shortly followed.

Last year, Tesla made news by opening up its Supercharger network to vehicles made by other manufacturers. Among the automakers involved in this was Ford, which has made some inroads in the electric space.

Ford has asked its electric vehicle owners to stop using Tesla's charging adapter due to a potential issue that could affect charging speed and damage the charging port. The company will send replacements at no cost.
