A toll increase went into effect on Wednesday for the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. A 3% increase in the cost of tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway went into effect at the start of the new year.
3% toll increase on Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike in effect
2025 will be the 5th year for the 3% toll hike since the spending plan was approved in 2019. Back then the Turnpike Authority said the rate would increase "up to" 3% each year. But each year, it's been exactly 3%. Over the last five years, tolls have increased 15%. They haven't said when the annual price hikes would stop.
