The family of Jack Loso, the Minnesota State University, Mankato student who died in a landslide at Minneopa State Park in December 2023, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The family wants compensation for "severe emotional stress" on behalf of Loso's next of kin, as well as his sister and cousin, who were with Loso when he died.

The family of a college student who died in a landslide at Minneopa State Park filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the state, alleging negligent trail design directed park visitors toward unstable rock features.

Jack Loso, who was a student at Minnesota State Univeristy, Mankato, was visiting the park with his sister and cousin on December 2, 2023 when the landslide occurred.
