It took a bit of time for the Buffalo Bills to get going, but after falling behind 7-0 in the first quarter, they scored 10 straight points, taking the lead on a 5-yard rushing touchdown by James Cook.

Bills running back James Cook is having a very big day today against the Broncos. Early in the second quarter, Cook already has nine carries for 60 yards, including a five-yard touchdown run that gave the Bills a 10-7 lead.

The Broncos came out swinging at the Bills in their Wild Card matchup at Highmark Stadium. The visitors opened the scoring as rookie quarterback Bo Nix showed why he's so exciting with a bomb down the middle of the field to give the Broncos an early 7-0 lead

Cook still had something to play for one touchdown shy of tying Simpson's record. He was given four carries inside the Patriots' 15-yard line on Buffalo's second possession, including one from the 1-yard line, but was unable to get into the end zone.

Cook will very likely end the 2024 season under 1,000 rushing yards as he sits on 981 currently and in Buffalo’s season finale he won’t see much, if any, playing time. Even so, he ranks second in rushing DVOA this season trailing only the Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry.
