Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, along with mayors from Denver, New York and Chicago, was called to testify before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee regarding sanctuary city policies in a letter Monday morning.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has been called upon to testify at an upcoming hearing on so-called "sanctuary cities."

In a statement, a city spokesperson said, “We are proud that Boston is the safest major city in the United States. We have received the letter and are reviewing it.”
