More than 60 lawmakers — plus lobbyists, staff and media – will fill the halls of the Nevada State Legislature on Monday for the start of the 83rd Legislative Session. Nevada’s part-time legislature meets every odd year for 120 days.

A bipartisan effort in the Nevada Legislature could put an end to the practice this year. Democratic Assemblywoman Selena La Rue Hatch and Republican Senator Robin Titus both have introduced bills to shift the state to permanent standard time later this year.
