U.S. rapper OG Maco has died aged 32, a fortnight after reportedly being found with a gunshot wound. His family announced the death of the musician — real name Benedict Chiajulam Ihesiba Jr. — on Thursday in the hospital in Los Angeles.

The Atlanta rapper passed away on December 26 after roughly two weeks on life support at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Rapper OG Maco has died. He was 32. “With heavy hearts, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved ben, known to the world as OG Maco,” the musician’s family wrote in a Friday7, Instagram statement on his official page.
