The debate has been going on since Harshit Rana was allowed to be a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube during India’s fourth T20I against England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune on Friday.

Harshit Rana was added to the India playing XI for the fourth T20 against England as a concussion substitute for Shivam Dube. However, this decision was controversial, with some claiming that Harshit was not a like-for-like replacement.

England will realise that they were undone more by spinners and acknowledge within the group, if not publicly, that Rana for Dube wasn’t as much of a problem.

Shivam Dube, who scored 53, was hit on the helmet in the penultimate ball of the Indian innings by a Jamie Overton delivery.

Both Shivam Dube and his concussion sub Harshit Rana ended up making significant contributions at crucial junctures in either innings, leaving Jos Buttler's England 15 runs short in a 182-run case on Friday.

In the fourth T20I against England, Harshit Rana replaced Shivam Dube as a concussion substitute after Dube suffered a blow on the helmet. Despite controversies, India's bowling coach Morne Morkel clarified that the match referee approved Rana’s inclusion.

Even though Ramandeep Singh, a batting all-rounder like Dube, was on the bench, Harshit Rana was the name India proposed to Javagal Srinath, the match referee.

England captain Jos Buttler said Harshit Rana was not a like-for-like replacement for Shivam Dube in the fourth T20I of the five-match series in Pune.
