WEST PALM BEACH — Beleaguered homeowners around Palm Beach Gardens are coping with some massive damage from a tornado that touched down on Wednesday. The National Weather Service said it was an EF-3 tornado with wind speeds of up to 140 miles per hour.

In its report Friday, the Weather Service reiterated that the tornado was a powerful EF-3 that hit Wellington and Palm Beach Gardens.

Palm Beach and Palm Beach County remained under a tropical storm warning Wednesday afternoon, meaning tropical storm conditions including heavy rain and sustained winds between 58 and 73 mph are possible today. Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast later Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
