On his first full day in office Tuesday, President Donald Trump continued sweeping actions, including ordering the shuttering of all executive branch diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and ordering all employees working in such offices to be placed on leave.

President Trump flexed his presidential powers Monday, promising executive orders to usher in his agenda. He signaled pardons to come, after President Biden issued his own.

Donald Trump is not the first U.S. president to issue an executive order, and he certainly won't be the last. My own research shows executive orders have been a mainstay in American politics -- with limitations.
