The Madras High Court today said that the alleged sexual assault case at Anna University is "being politicised".

Sowmiya Anbumani, wife of PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss and other party members were detained shortly after the agitation started at Valluvar Kottam.

The memorandum, submitted by ABVP's national secretary, Shravan P. Raj, highlighted the incident of sexual harassment at Anna University and the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu. It also condemned the arrest of ABVP students who were protesting peacefully and democratically.

A 19-year-old female student of Anna University in Chennai was sexually assaulted on the campus on Monday. The victim's male friend was also attacked by two unidentified men during the incident. The police were informed about the assault on Tuesday,
