Kanye West has dismissed his bipolar disorder, claiming he was misdiagnosed after his breakdown in 2016 and that he actually has autism.

West said he was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past and actually has autism—which is estimated to affect about 1 in 45 adults in the United States.

“Autism spectrum disorder is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave,” according to the National Institute of Mental Health. Autism is not considered a mental health disorder and be diagnosed at any age.
