Evacuations are in place for certain Oakland Hills residents on Friday afternoon after a fast-moving fire broke out in the area.

At least two homes were destroyed by a wildfire in the hills around Oakland, Calif., with the blaze only 50% contained Saturday, local officials said.

A fast-moving fire fed by strong winds burned two homes Friday and damaged several others in a hillside neighborhood in the city of Oakland, where roughly 500 people were ordered to evacuate, officials said.
