Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, as a powerful Category 3 storm Oct. 9, 2024, before exiting out of Cape Canaveral a day later

A confirmed EF-1 tornado touched down in Cocoa Beach as bands from Hurricane Milton swept through the area this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Packing winds of roughly 85-95 mph, the twister ripped much of the roof off the Wells Fargo branch at North Atlantic and South Banana River boulevards.
