Officials said Engine Company 247 was heading to the call around 10:20 a.m. when it collided with a sedan at the intersection of Yosemite and Washington avenues.
A separate fire engine responding to the same call, just after 9 a.m., lost traction on the same hill and crashed into two unoccupied cars, according to a press release from the fire department.
Laurel Fire Department Chief Leo Brown said several engines and a ladder truck responded to a call about 4:20 p.m. Friday about a fire at the Jones County manufacturer in the Pendorff area.
The driver of an SUV was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and one firefighter was hospitalized in good condition.
