Paulhus has spent the last 39 years fighting to get fluoride removed from Newburyport's drinking water. She writes letters to local newspapers, speaks up at community meetings, and personally, uses non-fluoridated dental products because she believes fluoride is poison.

Manatee County commissioners will discuss guidance from Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo that advises against the use of fluoride in water.

In Buffalo, New York, city officials recently brought fluoride back online following a class action lawsuit from residents. The suit was filed after an investigative reporter found that the city had not been adding fluoride to its water for nine years, unbeknownst to residents.
