The Ohio State Buckeyes prepared to take on the Texas Longhorns at the Cotton Bowl Classic on Friday night with a trip to the national championship game on the line. Prior to the game, Ohio State alumnus and former Buckeyes quarterback Kirk Herbstreit found himself in a heated discussion with former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard over the perception that Ohio State "bought" their current team with twenty-plus million dollars of offseason expenditures.

Ohio State is set to take on the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl tonight and the winner will face Notre Dame in the National Championship. The Buckeyes have gotten here by rolling through Tennessee and Oregon after a disappointing loss to Michigan to end the regular season.

Ohio State has looked impressive through the first two rounds of the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes blasted Tennessee in Columbus in round one before a convincing win over then-unbeaten Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
