Four Ukrainian drones hit Russia's Lukoil refinery early Wednesday morning causing fires and significant damage, according to Ukraine's military intelligence. It comes days after Russia's Ryazan oil refinery was hit.

One of the uncharacteristic attacks targeted the Nizhny Novgorod region, located southeast of Moscow and about 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The Russian Defense Ministry said it shot down three drones over the region. Governor Gleb Nikitin said drone fragments damaged a building and caused a fire, but did not hurt anyone.

Two people were killed and as many others were injured in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Wednesday.
