Greenland’s leader Múte Egede said that he is prepared to start negotiations with President-elect Donald Trump about the future of the Arctic island. But he did warn the president-elect that his people were not interested in becoming a part of the United States, The New York Post reported.

The prime minister said that while Greenlanders do not want to become Americans, “the reality is we are going to work with the U.S. — yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
