The City of Denver is extending its severe weather shelter activation into next week. Denver's Department of Housing Stability activated its Cold Weather Shelter plan on Dec. 30 and has extended it until at least 11 a.

Denver’s cold weather shelters will be open for another week as frigid weather makes its way across the state.

The shelter, at 3230 Brick Church Pike, will open at 4 p.m. and close at 10 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Matrix COC will be offering Cold Weather Emergency Sheltering on Thursday, January 9th at the DeFuniak Springs Community Center. Officials said the shelter, located at 361 N 10th Street, will be open from 5:00 p.

A cold weather shelter in Fort Pierce again will open Thursday afternoon as colder temperatures are expected to continue, officials said.

Denver is expanding its homeless shelter offerings Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning, as cold weather and snow threaten residents sleeping outdoors.
