The wife of late San Diego Padres owner Peter Seidler, Sheel Seidler, sued brother-in-laws Matthew and Robert on Monday, attempting to prevent another brother, John, from taking control of the team rather than her.

The widow of late San Diego Padres owner Peter Seidler filed a legal complaint Monday against two of his brothers in a fight over who should control the Major League Baseball team.

At issue is how things have proceeded in the wake of Peter Seidler’s death, which was just over a year ago. Peter was part of a group that purchased the Padres in 2012. Ron Fowler acted as the club’s control person until Peter took over after the 2020 season.
