Pennsylvania and the region’s electrical grid operator PJM Interconnection have reached an agreement that Gov. Josh Shapiro’s office said Tuesday will protect consumers against steep increases in their power bills.
Advocacy groups hope that recent proposals from the region’s electric grid operator will help restrain future rate hikes in Maryland.
The price cap is a short term solution. Experts say getting more electric supply plugged into the grid is required to keep electric bills low.
