BUFFALO — Morgan Geekie, proud son of Manitoba farm country, has found both a home and his goal-scoring touch of late, firing on the Bruins’ top-producing line with Czech standouts Pavel Zacha at center and David Pastrnak at right wing.
"When you feel better about yourself, you're going to be able to play your game the way you think you can play it." The post Once a healthy scratch, Morgan Geekie is turning into a goal-scoring force for Bruins appeared first on Boston.
Geekie had one five-on-five goal when the Bruins dismissed coach Jim Montgomery. In 31 games under Sacco, Geekie has exploded for 12. Geekie has recorded his team-leading 13 five-on-five strikes, three more than Pastrnak, by getting open, going to the front of the net and reading off his linemates well.
The only two Bruins with more goals than Geekie at this stage of the season are Pastrnak and Brad Marchand. Thus, Geekie is emerging as a solid scorer for the Bruins, so it will be fascinating to see if they look to lock him up from here.
The Bruins looked overmatched for two periods, but Morgan Geekie scored two third period goals to lift the B’s to a 3-1 win.
