The British Academy has unveiled the longlists for the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards, with 'Emilia Perez' and 'Conclave' in the lead.

The Golden Globes officially kick off awards season on Sunday night with the first major televised ceremony of 2025 en route to the Academy Awards on March 2. But the Oscars race was jolted on Friday before the Globes crowned a single winner thanks to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

The prestigious British ceremony will help kick off awards season, and details have emerged of who has made the longlist for all 25 categories.

Studiocanal has put in a strong showing. Its 24 spots are evenly spread across eight titles: The Apprentice (six), Nora Fingscheidt’s The Outrun (five), Ellen Kuras’ Lee (released with Sky Cinema, on four), and Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Back To Black and Mike Leigh’s Hard Truths with three apiece.

Bafta has unveiled the round two voting longlists for its 2024 film awards, with Emilia Perez leading the way with 15 spots followed by Conclave with 14. Eighty films have been longlisted across 25 categories, including the new children’s and family film award – the first new category at the Bafta film awards for five years.

This year's BAFTA Film Awards will once again be hosted by David Tennant, who presided over the 2024 ceremony in which Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Yorgos Lanthimos's Poor Things came out as the big winners.
