Having been riddled by injuries throughout his tenure with the Chicago Bears, left guard Teven Jenkins is approaching his first free agency experience with an open mind. During the 2024 season, Jenkins played a career-high 738 snaps, which was still less than 65% of the offensive plays that were ran by the team this season.

The Bears and left guard Teven Jenkins both sound ready to move on, and Jenkins said Monday he was mentally prepared to leave as an unrestricted free agent in March.

Heading into his final season under contract with the Bears, left guard Teven Jenkins hoped to earn an extension with the team, but that never came to fruition. Now, he seems to know his time in Chicago is coming to a close.

Bears OL Teven Jenkins told reporters on Monday that it’s a “toss up” whether he’ll be back in Chicago next season, per Scott Bair. Jenkins said his goal this year was to “leave no doubt” that he was deserving of an extension.
