Elder Park, in Govan, was described as recently as last year as an "absolute mess", with shopping trolleys in the pond, overgrown weeds, shrubs and grasses, and rubbish littering the park.

Piles of construction waste, old clothes, household rubbish and the remnants of abandoned and smashed-up cars are abandoned along with shopping trolleys, beer cans, broken glass and mounds of debris.
