Directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day,” “The Equalizer” films) with a script by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan, “Michael” tells the story of the late superstar, who died in 2009 at the age of 50 as a result of acute propofol intoxication.

Michael, the forthcoming Michael Jackson biopic, is facing a potential delay over the film’s controversial third act, which has legal implications. Puck reports that a 1994 legal agreement between the family of a then 13-year-old boy named Jordan Chandler and Jackson’s estate has thrown a wrench into the film’s completion.

As it turns out, the Michael Jackson estate made an agreement with the Chandler family to never “dramatize” those events. The Lionsgate film slated for release on October 3rd apparently does just that, and in the following manner that’s cited in the report:
