Wall Street is drifting Wednesday as gains for most stocks outweigh drops for Alphabet and some other big-name companies following their latest profit reports. The S&P 500 was 0.2% higher in late trading.

Google’s parent company is weighing on a mixed Wall Street Wednesday as the focus swings back toward how much profit businesses are making.

Wall Street was mixed in light trading early Tuesday as anxiety dissipated somewhat after President Donald Trump agreed to a 30-day pause on his tariff threats against Mexico and Canada. Trump's imposed tariffs on China remained in place.
