A Texas school district has reportedly issued a letter to parents on Wednesday warning parents that members of the Border Patrol may be boarding the bus and asking students questions about their citizenship status.

A South Texas school district is warning parents that U.S. Border Patrol agents may be checking the immigration status of students as they participate in extracurricular activities. On Wednesday, the Alice Independent School District sent out a letter alerting parents that agents may be boarding school buses to question students about their citizenship status.

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests continue to take place around the country, a school district in Texas has warned parents about the possibility of U.S. Border Patrol agents checking the immigration status of students on school buses traveling for extracurricular activities.

"We have received information that U.S. Border Patrol agents may be boarding school buses at highway checkpoints in and out of the Valley to question students about their citizenship status," said district officials in the letter.
