Gov. Mike DeWine’s budget proposal would double Ohio’s sports-betting tax to fund projects like a proposed new Cleveland Browns stadium.

DeWine is calling on the legislature to double the tax rate that those operating Ohio's sports book pay on their profits after all winnings are paid.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s proposed $218 billion state budget would fully fund public education, and raise taxes on tobacco and marijuana, as well as on sports betting companies to help fund things like the Cleveland Browns stadium project.
