The Boston College Eagles (10-14, 2-11 ACC) men’s basketball team lost its third straight game with a 97-94 double overtime loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-13, 5-8 ACC) on Wednesday night. The Eagles and Fighting Irish went back-and-forth for a majority of the first half. In the half, there were seven ties and three lead changes.

Notre Dame needed to end its three-game losing streak in the worst way. A struggling Boston College team seemed like the right team to do that against. It proved to be easier said than done, but the Irish got the job done with a 97-94 win in double overtime,

The second Burton left the game for a quick breather, Notre Dame went on a 2:00 minute scoring drought that eventually turned into a 6:00 minute scoring drought, ended by a Burton buzzer beater layup at the end of the first half.

Notre Dame scored the go-ahead basket with 16 seconds remaining and made a defensive stop to close out the game.

The Boston College Eagles baseball team kicks off its season on Friday afternoon with a road series against University of South Carolina Upstate. The Eagles are looking to improve from their 2024 campaign where they went 22-31 overall and 8-22 in ACC play.
