New Delhi: A report from the state-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is gaining traction on social media, alleging that Canada’s security agency had an informant within the group that plotted the 1985 Air India flight bombing.

As a precautionary measure, Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago was the landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada.

An Air India flight bound for Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing in Canada after the airline received an online threat, officials said on Tuesday.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistan leader, has issued threats against Air India flights between November 1 and 19. This comes amid strained India-Canada relations.
