The heist of 100,000 eggs from the back of a trailer in Pennsylvania has become a whodunit that police have yet to crack.

One farmer says it’s not the higher prices themselves driving people to fresh eggs, but rather the reason behind the price increases.

While egg prices have been fluctuating over recent years, they’re expected to hit their highest amount, and stay high, in 2025. The increase in cost stems from the ongoing impact of avian influenza.
