Officer Michael Horan of Greensboro Police Department was shot and killed while he was responding to a report of a man with Firearms in a Food Lion store, Lawndale Drive in Greensboro, North Carolina.

For the second time in less than a year, the Greensboro community is mourning the loss of a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. Flowers, candles and handwritten notes have been placed outside the Greensboro Police Department in honor of Officer Michael Horan,

Greensboro police said Tarell Isaac McMillian was charged with first-degree murder for killing officer Michael Horan inside a Food Lion on Lawndale Drive.
