Caltrans is expected to shut down a section of Pacific Coast Highway on Tuesday afternoon because of concerns about the rain and possible mudslides.

A disastrous start of 2025 when it comes to weather continued on Thursday throughout the area, with heavy rains and mudslides making their presence felt.

The damage comes as L.A. County endures an atmospheric river storm, bringing torrential rainfall and the possibility for “life-threatening” debris flows to a region weary from last month’s devastating firestorm.
