One person was killed when a car collided with a propane truck Monday morning in Placer County, the California Highway Patrol said. According to CHP, around 6 a.m. a vehicle was traveling south on State Route 49 just south of Joerger Road when the driver lost control and traveled into the northbound lane.

A driver has died after crashing into a propane truck near Auburn early Monday morning, authorities say. California Highway Patrol says, around 6 a.m., a person driving a Pontiac Firebird on Highway 49 was heading north when they lost control near Joerger Road.

Northbound Highway 49 in north Auburn was closed Monday morning following a major injury wreck, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.

CHP says the driver was going south on the highway when they lost control and crashed into a propane truck heading north.
