A dry January across Colorado and the rest of the Rocky Mountain West has created a dichotomy of water haves and have-nots.

The B.C. River Forecast Centre says that a historically dry January in many parts of B.C. means snowpack levels across the province were lower in February than at the start of the year.

In a mid-winter water update, water managers in Central Oregon say 2025 is shaping up to be one the best years in recent memory for water storage and irrigation.

British Columbia's latest snow and water supply bulletin says it was "extremely dry" across much of the province last month, with average snowpack measuring 28 per cent below normal as of Feb. 1.
