CES 2025 hit us with a curveball when Naughty Dog Studios' creative director Neal Druckmann unexpectedly stepped onto the Sony press conference stage to drop a brand new trailer for The Last of Us Season 2 — and yeah, it’s as intense as you’d hope.

HBO has released another action-packed trailer for Season 2 of its hit post-apocalyptic drama The Last Of Us. The trailer is not much for story, teasing the action without any need for dialogue.

In a new teaser dropped Tuesday (January 7), the streamer announced that its popular adaptation of the post-apocalyptic PlayStation video game would be premiering this April. The trailer gives a first look at Abby, a pivotal character and the main antagonist from the video game sequel The Last of Us: Part II, on which season two is based.

We now know when 'The Last of Us' will return for season two. The series will return in April, with a specific premiere date to be announced at a later date. Co-creator, writer and executive producer Neil Druckmann announced the news during Sony's press conference at CES on Monday.
