Zoo Atlanta welcomes Titan the African elephant to Savannah habitat
Zoo Atlanta's newest addition is Titan the African elephant. Sixteen-year-old Titan came to Atlanta from a Kansas zoo on the recommendation of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo now has four elephants and is working to get Titan used to the new environment.

ATLANTA — Zoo Atlanta announced it has welcomed a new addition: Titan, a 16-year-old male African elephant.

Titan, who the zoo says weighs more than 8,000 pounds, was born in Eswatini, an African nation near Mozambique. He and several other elephants were brought to the United States in 2016 as part of a multi-organizational rescue effort to save elephants impacted by drought conditions in the region.
