Beloved waterfront restaurant in Cortez fishing village, near Sarasota and Bradenton, reopens after Hurricane Milton, Helene closures.

BRANDENTON, Fla — The Florida Department of Financial Services is hosting an insurance village in Bradenton starting Monday— allowing policyholders to meet with their insurance in person to file claims related to Hurricane Milton and Helene. Officials are asking policyholders to bring as much documentation as they can:

Repairs began Thursday after staff assessed the damage from Hurricane Milton. Airport CEO and President Rick Piccolo said that despite the two areas of roof damage, he was working toward having repairs finished by the end of the week so flights could resume by Saturday afternoon.

Back-to-back blows from Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene have caused unprecedented damage to Sarasota and Manatee County homes and businesses, including many of our region's most beloved restaurants, especially those dining establishments hugging our famous Gulf of Mexico coastline.
