Just weeks after installing so-called "subway spikes" on certain turnstiles at one New York City station, the MTA is trying another new feature in an attempt to deter fare beaters.
The separate attacks broke out at the 86th St. Station on the Upper East Side and on a Canarsie-bound L train Monday evening.
The incident happened last Saturday around 10:20 p.m. at the Forest Hills-71 Avenue subway station, police said.
