The Beaufort County town of Aurora, population 450, is one of a number of rural communities staking their economic futures on industrial park developments designed to attract employers.
New Jersey developer J.G. Petrucci has pledged to bring at least 150 jobs to a 23.7-acre parcel at the former Bethlehem Steel site in Lackawanna.
The Buffalo and Erie County Industrial Land Development Corp. chose Asbury-based J.G. Petrucci Co. to take on the agency's request for construction of at least 200,000 square feet of new space.
