The morning Hurricane Milton passed, boaters who could still access their vessels raced to get back out on the water for one reason and one reason only: to find out if Midnight Pass had reopened. The hoots and hollers shared between kayakers, boaters and jet skiers in Sarasota Bay quickly revealed the answer.

If you go to the south side of Manasota Key – and residents really wish you wouldn’t – watch out for the white house sitting in Sand Dollar Lane. It’s one of the fishing-village-turned-old-Florida-resort-town's oldest structures.
