On. Jan. 22, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) elevated a recall of some Cal Yee Farm chocolate products to its most serious level, Class I, for some products — Dark Chocolate Almonds, Dark Chocolate Apricots and Dark Chocolate Walnuts — that contain milk not listed in the ingredients, according to the New York Post.

The agency warned that the products, made by Cal Yee Farm, could have potentially serious or even deadly consequences because the packages were mislabeled. No illnesses have been reported.

The FDA has updated the December recall of some of Cal Yee Farms' products to the highest risk level classification for three of its chocolate products, warning that exposure or consumption could cause death.

A major chocolate recall has been upgraded to the highest possible risk level.

In a flurry of recalls throughout January, chocolate lovers should be cautious when selecting their sweet treats. On December 22, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) declared a recall for Cal Yee Farm chocolate and yogurt products due to undeclared milk.

The (FDA) has announced several Class 1 recalls, the highest risk level, for various food products sold across multiple states.

Nine states have been identified as being affected by the chocolate recall, but the products were available online so others could have the products as well. Consumers affected bought products from the retail store located at 5158 Clayton Road, Suisun Valley, CA 94534, and online through calyeefarm.com.

Undeclared milk in food products can lead to serious health issues for people with milk allergies, including hives, cramps, dizziness, swollen vocal cords and unconsciousness, and cause death, according to the FDA’s update, which was issued on Jan. 22.
