Wales are in desperate need of a victory in the Eternal City as they travel to Rome to take on Italy in the Six Nations. Warren Gatland's side have suffered a record 13 consecutive Test defeats and were thrashed 43-0 by France in their opening Six Nations game last weekend.

England’s Matthew Carley will take charge of the Six Nations round two fixture between Italy rugby and Wales rugby in Rome. Born in Deal, Kent, Carley began refereeing at the age of 16, working his way up through the Kent system either side of a stint at university in Gloucestershire.
