Grand jurors criticized Gov. Kevin Stitt after investigating the misspending of pandemic relief funds for education.

A Multi-County Grand Jury investigation determined Gov. Kevin Stitt’s administration and state Superintendent Ryan Walters carried out “grossly negligent handling” of federal pandemic aid funds.

A Grand Jury investigation called the state's handling of education funds for COVID-19 relief to be “irresponsible, disappointing, and indefensible.”

Grand jurors did not issue any indictments but reported "the waste and misspending of millions of dollars in emergency aid was easily preventable."

A multicounty grand jury found “grossly negligent handling” of COVID-19 relief funds on the part of Governor Kevin Stitt and others tasked to distribute it, according to the jury’s report.
