Helena Greenleaf, of Thompson, Conn. won $1 million from the “ $2,500,000 Merry & Bright ” scratch ticket game by the Massachusetts State Lottery. The game costs $10 per ticket to play.

The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission said Galvez chose the cash option with her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes, on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
